PokerStars Being Hacked?

Published by admin on February 10, 2009

Some unofficial sources are saying that there is a security leak over at PokerStars. Some accounts have been blocked due to security problems. These accounts belong to players that have some sort of Trojan or virus/spyware on their computer. And what PokerStars is asking them is to do a scan on their computer, send some identification information in order to make sure that everything is okay.

The problems seems to be started from certain computer/technical forums where these members (ThirstyCa318 and MainMan Andy) sent over to PokerStars players a file to help them fix something on their computer.

Our suggestion is that you stay away from any underground websites (hacks/cracks/serials/p0rn) and don’t install anything that you don’t know or trust. There are many viruses out there that are able to take your log in information and use your account to transfer the money to somebody else. And the chance of getting that money back is very little, since it will go through many people before the crooks will actually cash out, making it almost impossible to track.

We suggest that you always have installed a Firewall software (Zone Alarm) and an antivirus software that will guard your computer. This way the chances of getting your computer hacked are very little.
