Scotty Nguyen is a professional poker player that was born in Vietnam on October 28^th 1962. He managed to win 5 WSOP (World Series Of Poker) bracelets. One of the most notable performance was the 1998 WSOP main event. He also managed to win the 2008 $50k HORSE World Championship. This way he managed to become the world’s first player to win both the main event and a HORSE event. He is also known for being one of the most active online poker player out there. During the period 2000 and 2004 he managed to finish in the money more than 100 poker events.

One of his main characteristic is the fact that he plays with lots of emotion. An outstanding quote of Nguyen happened during the 1998 WSOP’s main event, the moment when the dealer showed a full house on the table 99-888. He then said to his opponent Kevin McBride: “You call, gonna be all over, baby”. After that McBride had a call and said “I call play the board”. Right after that he managed to win with a better hand (a better full house).

One of the latest achievements of Nguyen was winning the LA Poker Classic $10k HORSE event in 2009. That happened just few weeks ago. He managed to finish the 1^st place, and this event allowed him to win $339,743. This proves that he is still one of the best bets at poker tournaments.

His total earnings out of poker live events until now (2009) are exceeding $10.3 million.

He also showed at the Ultimate Blackjack Tour, where he played the Elimination Blackjack.
