Asian gem

Born in Pakistan in 1962, Hasan Habib was turning to be a fine tennis discovery at a tender age of 14. Life was fine and he owned a video store as well. But then studies became a priority and he went to America to pursue his academics in Redlands.

Poker bug

Though he did his graduation, his college helped him learn and sharpen his skills more in Poker. He was quite good in the game and started with cash games at 23. He became a tournament professional at 36 years of age.

First shine

He shone on the circuit first in 2000 when he played in the final table of World Poker Open and WSOP. Those were hard times and he had to fight hard for survival. Somehow he lived through.

Full display

He came into his own in 2004 when he finished second in World Poker Tour. This was the year he excelled in Bellagio’s high cash tournament as well. He came third in WPT, 2005 too. His image though was a bit tarnished as he had wagered on Tuan Le, who went on to win the tournament. Naturally, he was suspected of foul play. He won his first and only WSOP title in 2007. His career has otherwise been laced with second and third places.

Preferences

He plays in both professional and side poker tournaments. No Limit Hold’em is his game in the former genre and Omaha Hi-Lo in the latter.

Life

In 2000, he had problems managing a rented room, now he owns three houses in Nevada, California and Los Angeles. He likes taking risks in Real Estate too. He loves traveling and relaxing with his mates. He is a self-made man and takes pride in his achievements. However he owes his lifestyle to the game of poker, which he has made his own through dedication and raw talent.
